Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken serious notice of the land scam involving Ansal Group. In a significant development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath chaired a crucial meeting with several key officials, including the Principal Secretary of Housing and Urban Planning, the Housing Commissioner, LDA Vice-President Firstmesh Kumar, and senior officers from the Police Department.
During the meeting, CM Yogi issued stern instructions regarding the ongoing land scam. The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister has ordered the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) to file a First Information Report (FIR) against Ansal Group in connection with the land scam.
LDA Vice-President, Firstmesh Kumar, made an important statement, confirming that the LDA would initiate the process of filing the FIR against Ansal within a week. The LDA is set to take strict action based on the findings and evidence.
The background of the case reveals that the LDA had provided 432 acres of land to Ansal Group. However, Ansal has failed to make the necessary payments, with over ₹400 crores outstanding in dues to the LDA. In addition to the financial irregularities, the LDA will submit a detailed report to the state government, outlining all the violations and irregularities committed by Ansal.
One of the significant aspects of the scam is related to Ansal's failure to purchase the necessary 40 acres of land for various public amenities, including STP (Sewage Treatment Plants), Common Facilities, and other infrastructure. This was a mandatory requirement, but Ansal failed to meet it.
Moreover, the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) has already issued a recovery certificate (RC) against Ansal for ₹235 crores, adding to the legal troubles faced by the company.
In summary, CM Yogi's strong intervention indicates that the state government is taking a firm stance on ensuring accountability and transparency in land dealings, particularly in relation to the Ansal land scam. The LDA's forthcoming actions are expected to bring more clarity and legal consequences for Ansal Group.
